The colour is Dulon Sahara Dust which is shown on the plate adjacent to the radiator. This is and was a Land Rover colour though only a few Mokes seem to be made with this finish. I am surprised though that you don't list it as a standard colour. The engine prefix is 12H706AAZ. I do not know what this indicates, but it seems to be a standard 1275 unit of the period. I do not know when this Moke was made, but it was registered as new in the UK in late 1981. It was sold by the importer, Runamoke, in 1981 to a man in London who sold it on in 1983 to another in Purfleet, Essex. He ran it until 1988 when he put in a garage with 7995 miles on the clock. I purchased it in 2007 with 8915 miles! I would be very interestd to know from you, when and where it was made and if it has any close relatives still in use in Australia. |
