MokeFest 2009 is a National, and even international, gathering for Moke owners and their Mokes to enjoy a weekend or more of social activities and public displays. The majority of Mokes will be in attendance over the Friday to Sunday period of the Easter weekend in April 2009 and for those who want more the Tuesday to Thursday is a more relaxed lead up to MokeFest .
MokeFest 2009 is building on the success of the National Moke Muster in 2006 that was organised by the Moke Owners Association in 2006 that had more than 160 Mokes in attendance for the weekend. The Muster was organised as a one off event and following its success there was talk of organising another one in 2011, however to date that is all it has been, talk. A number of people expressed their interest in having another Moke event to me, due to my involvement in the Muster, so I spoke with people in both the MOA and South Australian Moke clubs and although the support was there for another event, neither was in a position to organise another in 2008 or 2009.
With the help of other Moke owners from around Australia I am organising MokeFest 2009 as an individual enthusiast for the many other Moke owners wanted to have another big event for our favourite little vehicle. Depending on the success of MokeFest 2009 there may only be one however it is being planned with future MokeFest's in mind and a hope that the clubs can organise another National Moke Muster and the events compliment each other.
Regardless of the future past MokeFest 2009 and with your support I am expecting a big turn out of Mokes at Wagga and great 5 days of Moking.
