About this Site

Introduction

This site is privately managed by Terry Pollard with the intention of informing and promoting all things Moke. The various aspects of the website come from many influences over the years that I have been enjoying Mokes and all can be collated into a desire to inform, educate and promote the Mokes profile in the world as a classic cult car. Others that share this ideal have provide ideas, encouragement and take on some tasks to what is becoming quite a reasonable size effort. As this idea has grown into things like The Moke Forum and MokeWerx and other activities away from the internet

Objectives

I am going to try and list the various objectives that I hope to achieve over through this website

  • To increase the likelihood that the new Moke owner, and those still looking, will have a good experience and not a bad or negative one. To achieve this I am trying to provide information and education on selecting and assessing the right Moke for the new owner so they can make a more informed choice in the market place.
  • For the people who own a Moke and would like to learn more about it to perhaps do basic tasks like servicing or repair minor faults to those looking to do a full restoration. Once again quality information and education are the key ingredients here and through the Moke Forum provide a place to ask questions.
  • To provide opportunities for people to enjoy their Mokes in the company of other Moke owners, whether it be on day trips or longer tours or a car show type events. This is not to create another Moke club, but to promote the social aspects of being a part of a group and encourage people to join a local club or group where one exists.
  • To preserve the history of the Moke and its life over the years before it is too late to accumulate this information and items.
  • To preserve the Moke and keep it running on the road as long as possible by manufacturing replica parts of the item difficult to obtain or no longer available.

Looking Forward

The various Moke and Mini clubs, the service/repair places and the parts suppliers all address specific aspects of the Moke enthusiast world and my intention is to eventually build up all the other areas I feel are not being covered by these entities. The plan is to inform and educate by sharing information, to source or make the parts no longer available thorugh normal channels and to provide opportunities for people to get together. As things progress you will start to see new ideas being implemented that will add further to the Moke experience.

As much as I would like to think I can do it all, I know I can't and I do have people who provide me help and who are my sounding boards for some of the strange ideas and for some encouragement. I am also interested in hearing from others about ideas they have to help make Moking a long and enjoyable pastime.

Let's just play Moke.
