This specimen of a Stainless Steel Moke was spotted in transit in a Melbourne transport depot. Not a lot of them around so very rare to see one these day and this one looks like it is surviving well.
Made from a body shell fabricated in Stainless Steel in Queensland these Mokes were built by dismantling other Mokes and using the parts from them. What was sacrificed back then in the early 1990's would probably be restored these days, so these cars could be responsible for so decent Mokes being trashed.
However their construction is interesting with none of the round corners remaining on them and lots of straight folds. Definitely a different looking Moke.
Also believed to be only legally registered in Queensland, interesting to see the Victorian plates on this Moke, as it appears to be coming into Melbounre not going.
