I want a moke

Hi,

A Gemini has a PCD of 100mm and a Moke has a PCD of 101.6mm(4") so although you may get them over the wheel studs the nuts will either tighten up offset to the rim or the wheels studs will become bent.

G'day Spudie,
             "A" frames as they are known by the nature
of the shape when hooked up to the towball of the tow
car will quite happily follow behind without the need for
anyone to steer it. you used to see them being towed
behind buses or winebagoes. but most people now use
those gypsy trailers or a full car trailer. less wear and
tear on the vehicle being towed.

Thanks for the explanation, I couldn't have answered.
It came with the moke when we first got it. The owner had had it made to transport the moke to Geraldton, some 8-10 hours of towing away and then the deal fell through to our benefit.
We never used it so couldn't say if it works well etc. There is a good pic of it on the website to get an idea.

Hi,

The particular style of A-frame mounts by clamping the front bumper bar which on the earlier model Moke with through the grille mounts is okay and even better if strengthened however the 1980 style front bumper is not really strong enough in my opinion for the stresses an A-Frame puts on the bumper.

It looks like it could be modified to suit a better mounting system if someone wanted to do it.
