Hi,

The short answer is the only new Bodies around are from China, see www.mokeaustralia.com, and there are are limited panels available, some new and some second hand.

What have you got or what are you thinking of doing that makes you ask for a new shell or panels?

thanks for the info. The reason i ask is basically im restoring my 78 model moke at the moment and every time i look at the thing i find more rust which is really frustrating  :-[
i have rust through the floor pan(both sides), rust near the gear shifter and rust on both sides of the side panels. The front grill is also quit dented along with the rear panel.
I figured if i can purchase a whole shell it will be cheaper than getting it fixed by a panel beater?? what do you think?
Thanks

You could buy a Choke body for about $4500 the fit your bits to it, subframes etc
but you may have trouble registering it.
Or you could spend the $4500 on doing up the body you have and you'd end up with a real moke ;D
I'm not sure what a panel beater /spray painter would charge to do a body resto but it may be close to the same.
Can you track down a retired panel beater who does work for a bit of fun, maybe a lot cheaper than a pro.

Do you have the time or inclination to do it yourself, learn some new skills in the process, it's very satisfying
to say 'I did that'. Try and get a copy of Roy Scotts book to see what can be achieved.

Post up some photos of what you have.

Where about are you, it may help with recomendations.

You can get Roy's book by emailing him at rbjrscott@aol.com.
He is in England but the book is a good read and has some good info on how to make panels etc

We love photos of mokes
