Wiring information on two speed wiper motor
« on: August 06, 2005, 08:38:39 AM »
Hi,

I have a two speed wiper motor in a 1980 moke. I have a twin stalk assembly I purchased from UK - Indicator - Wiper stalk assemly - MK3.

I have mapped out the wires from the stalk to the functions, I have a wiring diagram of the motor, but I am unsure of the function of the two speed system - what each wire does:

31 - Dash Earth
53B - ?
53 - ?
53A - ?
31 B - ?

The wire colours from the stalk and the motor are diffrent (maybe not compatable at all?)

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Andrew.

Andrew,

A picture is worth a thousand words :-)  If you can attach a picture of the actual motor and the wiring plug I can check it against one around here and tell/show you what way to connect things.

The above link is a photo of the stalk assembly. The modular plugs are diffrent from the one on the existing loom.

Have found the following while looking for a solution to the wiper wiring problem. Looks as if the ifo is the same (at least for the wipers) as a MG

Has lots of info, pictures etc

Using the MG info I worked out the setup. I could not get it to park - the motor was running on with is momentum, past the stop point and cycling again - and again. Loaded up the motor and it stoped on the park point. - all good.

Andrew,

Glad you were able to work it out.

I checked out that MG website and was very impressed, well worth a look for anyone who hasn't clicked on the link above.

That is the type of detail I would like to get www.moke.com.au up to and gave myself another few years worth of ideas to put into www.moke.com.au.
