Fully sealed beam Lucas Specials.

As I said, I have a few headlights we can try, one of them is bound to work!

The window of opportunity firmly closed on that one.
Lights and wipers not working put the kibosh on sending the Mrs. By the time I got my arse in gear to sort them out we had a little man to look after.  ;)
To save cash I have been toying with the idea of taking Barney off the road over winter but yesterday my 205 Gti shat itself  :'( so that will be staying in my garage until I decide what to do with it. :-\
I can't spend the winter driving my slushbox work ute or the slushbox babby mobile. I need some automotive fun so Barney gets the call up.  :P
Just got to bodge up a horn and switch then see how we go.

No Smoken, to be honest I was so glad to make it home i've taken the front right to bits and thats as far as i've got... have barely looked at the car since Tuesday! Not even sure if its still leaking with all the brake fluid kicking around now.

Have put out fresh newspaper and will investigate further tomorrow and report back..

Bad news guys...

My friend has been rather lazy with the invitations to her baby shower but has set the date for the 15th so I'm no longer available  :(

How does Sunday the 22nd suit instead?

Smoken: Not much of a leak at all now but pretty low on oil too. Some oil appears to be coming out from under the rocker cover and also from the oil filter cap so will start by replacing worn seals and old cap. Don't think this is the main source tho as there is alot of oil everywhere.. will degrease the whole engine once it's 'back on its feet' and try again. Plus the boys will have a better idea of where to look when we get round to the garage day.
Apart from the potential leak its bearings and possible CV joint (which I will send away to be restored to save time), bushes and suspension while its in bits + bleed brakes. The boys have also mentioned the steering arm (correct me if I'm wrong) might need a look at but happy to do this at a later stage.

All up i'm pretty proud of the car.. It hasn't done a run like that for over ten years (if ever) and I was expecting a few issues to come up!

What time will it kick off?

I might have to arrive and then leave at 3pm or something as I'll have work.
