IMD Illawarra / South Coast?
« on: September 25, 2010, 08:22:49 PM »
Anyone interested in a quick buzz? I know it's late notice and I really have a MOUNTAIN of stuff I should be doing for the Roundup, so I dont really want to make TOO big a thing of it.

I was just thinking, we could drive to Wollongong, meet up with any interested players there, then cruise down to Kiama to meet up with anyone from further south for an ice cream and a quick cruise around town.

We will then head home via Robertson, leaving everyone to either make something more of it, or just to make their own way home

I can only think of two possible Illawarra people's who might be interested - Pre10er and Mazy - I will PM you guys with my phone number in case you want to make it happen.

So sorry that unfortunately we can't join in. Had we been more organised we'd definitely be there. With a big time crunch to deal with this weekend, we'll just take a 10 min drive and take the obligatory pic. We'll do better next year. Happy IMD to all.  :)

Well, the weather really turned it on for us - a GREAT day for a trip out in the moke (even if it means I'll be up till all hours trying to get ready for the roundup ::))

I was hoping the days run would highlight any issues with appache before the trip to Tamworth, and that it did  :-\ (see other thread, yet to come)

Overall though, we had a great time, and Ian took some happy snaps for us, which I'm looking forward to seeing.

This was Mazy's debut at an IMD. The weather was perfect. We really only went around the corner due to time restrictions.  We were setting up for the photo when a couple, about the same age as us (NB: old-ish !!) came out of their house across the street, introduced themselves, and started chatting about the Moke they used to have many years ago. They'd parked their Moke for a photo in that same spot when they first moved in! They said theirs was an early green Californian with a blue denim canopy, they had it for 15 years, and wished they still had it. Another "aMazying" conversation, one of many since owning a Moke!  :D

Nice pics Ian! Even if you're a bad photographer, the fantastic weather and awesome subjects (the mokes) make the photos fab!
