Had a chat with Lord Hag this morning and the concensus of opinion (can you have a concensus with only 2?) was that we should plan around the visiting royalty who will be on the Gold Coast and have limited time.

Like Earl Moke I don't fancy Gold Coast traffic, so how about Gold Coast hinterland.

Maybe:-

1. Springbrook. It's years since I was up there but I remember it was a fun moke road.  Don't know if there is anywhere to eat up there. Anyone else know?

2. Take the Beachmont road up to Binna Burra and have lunch up there.

3. O'Ryley's.  Cafe is crap though.

4.  Tamborine

Any thought anyone?????

Definitely not O'Reillys, it is a rip off and the food is crap. We could always chance a space at the lookout we visited last time? (bring a BBQ).
Binna Burra is a nice drive but can get a bit busy especially for parking. There is a park at the turn-off for Binna Burra we could use.
Springbrook: There's a few cafe's etc if I recall and loads of lookouts to visit but it has a always pissed down when I've gone there and I don't want to tempt fate.
Tamborine?: That's near Jimboomba! (Hell, it gets my vote  :D).

Gday guys.
I could be interested in joining the run if it isn't to far for us to travell.
I say us because there is a couple of new mokers around my area so no pressure but if you keep around the coast somewhere, maybe Murwillumbah for example or even closer it may suite darth and us down here to join you. If not doen't matter, just a thought. CHEERS. Turbo

I was thinking maybe camping at Binna Burra Saurday night.  Then rolling down the hill to join up on the Sunday.

Anyone else interested?

Take the Beachmont road up from Canungra. Turn right at Beachmont, about 10 K's you get to Binna Burra.
It's in the rain forest. They have camping, cabins or the lodge. New tea shop.
Nice camp site, hot showers, BBQ's.
It is an easy 30/40 minuite run down the hill through beachmont to the Gold Coast to meet up with Darth on Sunday.
Maybe we can run down the niminbah valley to meet up with Turbo Rosie.
Where is the pancake shop Dean?

Sounds good with us. We may take the "Safari tent" option.

Darth,

What are your plans?
Where are you staying?
Do you need picking up from a hotel brothel or do you want to meet up somewhere?
Do you have any time deadlines?

How does this sound?

Saturday night at Binna Burra for those that want.
Meet in Nerang Sunday 10am. Meet those that did not camp plus Darth (may need picking up)
Numinbah valley to Chillingham. Meet Turbo and friends.
Circumnavigate Mt Warning.
Back to Coolangatta for pancakes.
