IMD - Melbourne
« on: July 02, 2010, 03:57:37 PM »
Hey Terry,
Got off my bum after your gentle reminder  :)

Melbourne IMD is booked in take two at the docklands.  I am suggesting re run last years with a hope for better weather but happy if anyone has alternate starts etc??? or do last years drive (without the road works)

They actually had us pencilled in from last year which ws a compliment too all those who attended as they are very strict on leaving oil etc and behaviour, and the site is very hotly sought due to its normally high exposure.  (except in sleet and frozen conditions :-\ :-\ :-\)
again will be hoping for great support so we dont risk losing the site or credibility

So what are the full details? Entry time, exit times, meeting for convoy in, dates?

IMD
Sunday 26th September

Terry will have to post more details as Spicey is laid up in hospital for a bit
(She'll be ok, an ongoing problem which is hopefully now sorted out!)

A great day and the more mokes we have the better!

OK - so what's the deal?

I've directed my builders that I absolutely MUST have my driveway clear the weekend of the 26th September. Why so you ask? Well as of Friday morning there was an 8m skip, 5 pallets of tiles, several hundred metres of lumber (not all in one length of course) and various other bits and piece associated with major renovations. If it's not clear, I've said they need to have a big bowl of weeties that weekend and enlist the help of some mates because they'll have to lift the Moke out!

I've even made sure I have easy access to the quick detailer and hood brush (rest of the shed is full of furniture and appliances) for when bluey finally emerges from the garage for the first time in at least a month.

So where are we meeting, and when, and will someone have a receipt book for me to finally pay my MOA membership?

Cheers,
Moke owner with withdrawal symptoms - Simon

Simon - MATE!!! -

You are sounding VERY stressed!

Who have you been asking to pay your dues?
I have a reciept book - i will bring it!
pm me your home adress and I will make sure you
get your copy of Tracks if you have not been getting it!

The final details of the Melb IMD are around somewhere
(but like you - i don't know the particulars yet - just know it is definately ON!)

If you need help to move the moke - let me know -
i can bring a few burly teens over on the saturday!

And by the time the rest of the forumers get a chance to read your post
I'm sure someone will let us know the starting place and time for

IMD 2010!

Hi,

Except for the actual location of the display, we are being moved the otherside of a white line, the meeting points are all correct.

CabSav, no fault on behalf of MOA and payment. Reread my post and yes I appear more stressed than I meant to convey. Not too bad it's purely life getting away from me in the last couple of months. Something about 'the best laid plans of mice and men...'.

I look forward to catching up with some fellow Mokees and celebrating another Geelong win!

Have read the link - thanks Terry. I seem to remember there are set leaving times as well.

Hi peoples,

Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to make it this year  :'( :'( . I've been flat out over the past few months. I managed to sell my house in one day and buy another house accidently whilst looking for rental! The settlement of my current house (which was only 30 days) is on the Monday after the IMD and I will still need to move a few things out of my place on Sunday. One such item is the Hulk. I will be driving the Hulk on the Sunday but I just don't think I can squeeze it in .... I hope to get back into more MOA events once I move into my new house which is towards the end of October.

Have a great IMD.

Cheers,

Spudie.

You really should read contracts before you sign them Spudie. At least enough to determine whether they are sale or rental contracts  ;)

I will be bringing a large amount of carpet squares along, it is an absolute conditions we leave no signs of our presence, but feel free to bring anything incase more than I can carry turn up  ;)
I am currently working on getting a better location set up , for which I have applied for a $12,500 fee waiver, so we can move closer to the water for more spectacular shots.  fingers crossed, but we must be careful.

HI all,

I intend to make the Melbourne IMD, as I am totally useless to navigate around Melboune, could somebody attach a map of the start and finish point.
The only caviat is I am pretty good drugs for ruptured eardrums, They are not human freindly and tend to knock me around a bit.

Hi,

If you come down via Heathcote kilmore Wallan etc we can have someone meet you closer to Melbourne and you just follow them. Or just come down the Calder and get on the Western Ring Road and head south to the Princess Highway and turn towards Melbourne and go up over the Westgate and follow the signs to Docklands once over the bridge.

Don't know how to put a little pointer on the meeting point but the gathering before we enter the Display area is at the end of Docklands Drv where it stops under the Bolte Bridge, to the right.

AC,

We will be comming through to Docklands on the Princess Freeway, past the end of the Ring Road at about 9:45 if you want to wait and jump in on the way past? If you want to meet there, lets know so if we are there before you we can wait and vice versa? Its just before you go over the West Gate Bridge.
