I want a moke
« on: April 16, 2010, 06:55:24 PM »
Just wondering if anyone knows of any mokes for sale in WA?

Been looking on ebay and carsales.com.au frequently tho.
My budget is below about 8k.

I used to have a blue flat tray 1980 moke 1100 in Tasmania in 1999. But my aunte sold it on me for $300
totally gutted by such a crap desicion by her to trash my baby.

So the years have passed but i cant shake that feeling... hahaha guess i just have to get another.
was able to have a spurt in friends yesterday and thought dam it, now i gotta get one.

Any help would be fantastic.
thankyou.

Jeez Stu,
That is a though story.  The toughest bit is it wasn't  she sold it too.

I have heard of a couple of utes in Tassie, so if I hear where it is I could reb salt into your wounds and tell you how good it is or how much it needs your help.

Good luck with finding a replacement in the West.

Cheers

Dev

Hi Needy,

I reckon I could sell 5 mokes a week - if I could find them! I often get stopped and asked where to get one.

They don't come up on eBay much here, and all the ones on carsales seem overpriced. I think the Quokka is your best bet, look under 'vintage and classic'. Online is better - the paper version is a nightmare to find anything, and costs $2. ;D

If you are really desperate, don't discount importing one. There are more to choose from over East, and generally cheaper which helps with the transport. Just a bit hard to inspect!

Cheers, Maddog.

Beauty !!!

I had that one when I was 12 !!!  Could shoot rockets from the 3 tubes at the back and had a blade flipping out of the front end.

Was only a model though...

cant wait to see a batmoke ... wonder if it would stand a fight with the deathstar ?

Good luck with your project  !!!!

And a rather weak link between the above car and the Moke is that George Barris, creator of the Batmobile, collector cards say that he also invented the Moke when in fact all he did was stick on a stripey red and white roof and wheel caps for the Beach Boy Mokes.
