Sri lankan IMD
« on: March 09, 2010, 01:10:27 PM »
Just for info, just saw the UK Miniworld mag (feb2010 edition) and it had a nice little write up and photo  on the sri Lankan IMD.   :D

In the first year I contacted the UK people via their Forum and I got a couple 'strange' responses from people in the club/committee over there and figured it was a waste of time with their attitude at the time. They have/had something called a World Tour which seemed to be limited to England a few EU countries and I got the impression they saw IMD as some kinda of opposition to that.

If someone in the UK wanted to be involved they are welcome to be a part of IMD but I no longer make the  effort to contact the UK club specifically about IMD.

Thanks moe-
I was just excited that one mans concept could be there in print in a international magazine, with a group of people in a far away land such as sri lanka.  terry has done more for international relationships than a dozen government think tanks!!!!!
At the risk of sounding like a believer - it touched me (yes I hear the howls of laughter)

I read the article as well, I was plesantly surprised that IMD had been picked-up by the UK press.

Good work to our Moke Friends in Sri Lanka.
There are some very very nice Mokes. Some really good work and mods.
No Seat belts?
The Chrome Hood Bows look good.
How nice are some of those seats. Wonder what they are out of.

Happy Mokin
Regards
Pete

How nicely are their cars presented?

I have gone to Mini shows with Mokes displayed that look like no effort was put into making the car look nice - most of the Sri Lankan Mokes look like show cars - extremely nice!
