I think the date works as it is easy to remember. The AFL grand final weekend.

I think the timing's about right, but at the risk of being accused of looking after my own interests, if you put it off a week (until the NRL Grand Final  ;)) it will coincide with The Moke Round Up in Tamworth.

Just a thought, but I think it should stay about the same time of the year so that people can get used to the timing.

although AFL is on sat and NRL is on following sun, so there is no football at all on that day(day after AFL grand final)

if we do have IML at TMRU there will be one less thread.

imagine that,
                 melb    2
                 syd     0
                 north coast 1
                 quirindi  60+

75% of all mokes made are still on the road, the others made it home.

Why not an International moke weekend so that those who can't do Sunday can organise an activity for Saturday and all can still feel part of the event?

Hi,

It is fair to say then that it wont be the first weekend in October. ;)

I have been thinking for the past month or so that I will set the date much earlier than usual to give everyone notice and get their priorities in order so that they can attend.

Hi,

just to clarify what I said, or at least what I meant. The date will probably be around the same time, late September, but I will confirm the date much earlier so that people can plan the rest of lifes unimportant things around the date.

Well don't move it a day earlier or I will be too busy watching Collingwood win the grand final .....
