Looking for Moke Owners in WA
« on: October 06, 2005, 11:02:26 AM »
G'day,
Im in Perth WA, and was hoping you could point me in the right direction of finding a Moke club in WA?  Any ideas? Or known moke cruises?

thanks in advance

..............................................

Terry,
Your a legend, thankyou for letting me know there are no moke
clubs, Incase anyone else asks, I have started up an e-mailing list for WA
owners and may end up organising a cruise one day.

Each time i see a moke I leave a card on thier windshield asking to e-mail
to join the mailing list for free.....

Thanksm8

Cheers,

I'm about to join the Southern Districts Mini Club (meeting next Wed),
as they have a few Moke owners & are happy to let me in,
even with my bastardised creation

Hi,

The Mini Car Club also welcomes Moke owners, especially those that like driving them rather than showing them.

You can contact me for more info.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi, I live in Perth and would like to know if anyone has any info on where to get a good (but cheap) canopy made?

Plus I'd love to go for a cruse with some other Mokes at some stage.

Is there anything organised here for international moke day on 21st sept in WA?  Sept 19th is 'International talk like a pirate day' - maybe a combo of pirates driving mokes could work!

Hey Seamoke

Im the one who bought that $2400 Moke and the larger problem is that the previous owner ran it out of oil, haha! Somehow failed to mention that in the ad. Nice little project for me in the next few months before summer kicks in.  :)

As Dave mentioned above, the Mini CC has avid Moke members: http://www.minicarclubwa.1hwy.com/

Ive been looking and looking but they just dont come up for sale that often in WA. Having said that there is another one up on ebay at the moment in Huntingdale (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Leyland-Mini-Moke-Californian_W0QQitemZ200247564509QQihZ010QQcategoryZ35227QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Hi phil-d,

G"day and welcome on board!
Is the oil (or lack of) going to be a major problem for you? Is it able to be driven or does it need some attention?
By the description it sounded like a really good buy,or did he ham that up as well. It looked good in the photos, and am looking forward to seeing and hearing more about your Moke.

Regards Seamoke.

Hey Again Seamoke

$2400 WAS the price and with a $3000 quote from Minicraft for a full rebuild (awesome Mini repairer/wrecker here in WA) i still thought it was a great buy. I was too scared to try and start it when viewing (incase it did!!!) but managed to get it running at home after some careful attention.

Took it for a drive and all the main parts work fine so really really happy with it, cant stop smiling at the prospect of hitting the streets in awhile.

Today actually marked day 1 of my restoration and if I get organised Ill start up another topic in the correct forum so show progress and build up some cred in this virtual moke world!

Happy Moking
